Hotel Cumulus Koskikatu

Address: Koskikatu 5, Tampere

Lectures were public. In addition to keynote lectures there was a selection of talks from Finnish research groups utilizing synchrotron light in their research.

Poster session. Students were asked to prepare a 2 min flash presentation of their poster. The recommended content of a flash presentation was one slide + an opening slide with poster title, name and institution.

Earn study credits! A recommendation letter for the study credits was written by FSRUO to 18 students according to the following criteria:

  • 1 ECTS by writing a learning diary on the event's programme

or

  • 1 ECTS for those students who presented a poster and gave a flash presentation

or

  • 1 ECTS for those students who gave an oral presentation

Invited keynote lecturers:

  • Prof. Joachim Schnadt, MAX IV Laboratory, Sweden:
    • Ambient pressure x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy: a tool for in situ and operando spectroscopy
  • Prof. Arwen Pearson, University of Hamburg, Germany:
    • Enabling time-resolved structural biology
  • Prof. Juha Rouvinen, University of Eastern Finland, Finland:
    • Structures of allergens, implications for the triggering of allergic reaction
  • Dr. Joanna Hoszowska, University of Fribourg, Switzerland:
    • X-ray emission spectroscopy at synchrotron radiation and X-ray free electron laser facilities: challenges and opportunities
  • Dr. Zoltan Jurek, DESY, Germany:
